I have read every book by M Robinson but this was my absolute favorite by far. I literally read this book in one day. This book left me speechless and shocked so many times. To say I am emotionally drained is an understatement but in a good way.This book is told through both characters POVs. We get a glimpse of Brooke and Devon throughout the VIP series. I was very intrigued to find out there story and see how much it connected. So when the book starts we get a background story of Brooke and Devon. Brooke came from a good family and loved her parents but one night completely changed everything. Devon has literally fought for his mom and sisters since he was a child. I felt so bad for him for what he went through. Both Brooke and Devon are broken but together they heal each other. It wasn’t an easy road at all and these two went through hell and back to get there.
There were times in this book I wanted to hold Brooke and Devon but there were also times I wanted to slap both of them a few times. I know I got mad at Brooke quite a few times but I did actually understand why she made the choices she made. Brooke isn’t the only one who made me mad, Devon also pissed me off a few times. Sometimes things in life aren’t easy especially love but somehow Brooke and Devon didn’t give up even though there were times that I was biting my nails.
This book is definitely an emotional roller coaster ride that will make you happy, sad, pissed off, scream at your kindle a few times, jump up and down, and possibly throw your kindle across the room. It wasn’t easy ride at all but it was a ride that was very worth it. Brooke and Devon have stolen my heart completely. I look forward to more by M Robinson she has a way of ripping out your heart just to put it back together in the end.

OMG!!! I have loved every word I have read from this amazing author. I could not wait to hear more about the side characters Devon and Brooke. Let me tell you I was not disappointed one damn bit, if anything, I think I love these characters just as much if not more than Ysa and Seb, and I just didn't think that could happen. This book will bring back memories of the other books and will take you on a journey that you will not forget. There is so much of what I love about the person that M is inside of each book and she is amazing about sharing so much of herself with her readers in the books that she writes. There are very few authors that I read the minute they come out and call in with a Tempting Bad fever to stay home and finish, but this one is one to call in sick for. This book is a spin off from the original VIP trilogy and it can be read as a standalone. You will learn the gist of the other books, but you won’t get the story or the angst and all the details! This is Brooke (Ysa’s best friend & fellow VIP) and Devon’s (bar owner Ysa lived with prior to becoming a VIP) story. I was intrigued with Brooke & Devon’s story when I found read about them in MVP, book 3 of the VIP trilogy.
Learning the background behind both of these characters was heart-breaking, sorrowful and just made me want to reach through the book & wrap them both up in a hug. But it’s probably the last thing that either of them would have accepted. We never learned much about Devon’s past in the previous books and Brooke has always claimed that she had an idyllic childhood and grew up with money and both parents in the home. But appearances aren’t what they seem.
Brooke is the epitome of VIP, she is all that is VIP and she loves what she is. After all, it was her choice. We learn the backstory of why & how she became a VIP and from what we know of her, she will never let it go, she wants to own & run VIP when she no longer takes clients. This for Devon & their weird sort of non-relationship relationship could be a hard pill to swallow since she has no intentions of being faithful to him and he knows that as well. But he also knows that if he tries to make her be only his, then she will walk away from him without looking back.
Brooke realizes that she actually has feelings for Devon and that he has changed her thoughts & beliefs on so many things. Devon is also there for her whenever she needs him to be. He truly is a “nice” guy, who is also a hot, dirty-talking, take charge kind of man. But he is also willing to lend a helping hand and give the shirt off his back to someone in need and do anything he must to help his family, the ones he loves most. And Brooke is quickly becoming one of those people.
But their story is not without missteps and hurt. It’s no stroll through the park and in signature M. Robinson style of writing, there is plenty of angst, crazy twists, deliberately hurtful conversations that both characters will have to examine truthfully and come back from. She did not disappoint with this spin-off. It is also a long book, one that a set down a couple times & read other books, but was oh so good. She is currently writing book 5 entitled Mika, which I’m sure, will prove to be just as awesome as the rest of the series.
